The hunt is on for the unsung heroes and heroines of Surrey with the launch of the Surrey Hearts of Gold Awards.
Organised by Surrey’s Freemasons in partnership with the Surrey Herald Group of Newspapers and Surrey Community Action Group, this special awards event is designed to find those members of the community who do not get the recognition they deserve.
Surrey Hearts of Gold aims to recognise those special people in 10 categories:
- Courage in the face of adversity – a person helping others despite their own situation.
- Education – A teacher, dinner lady, teaching assistant, caretaker, lollipop person etc, who has made a difference to the people in their care.
- Young Person of the Year – A young person (under 16) who has made a difference in the community.
- Good Neighbour Award.
- Bravery award – Act of bravery by an individual.
- The “Green Award” – An individual who has made a difference to the environment.
- Community Champion – Someone who has worked tirelessly for their community.
- Charity – A Charity or member of a charity who has made a difference to a person, group or to the community.
- Youth Support Award – Someone who has made a difference for a young person or group of young people, eg youth club leader, scout master, junior sports team coach etc
- Carer’s Award – A nurse or carer who has shown care and dedication in looking after someone.
Nominations for an Award will come from members of the public or Freemasons, and nomination forms will be available through the media partner, or can be downloaded from our website.
Freemasons and their families are not eligible for nomination. |
